I thank headhunters for boosting my clients mood!

Someone I know was contacted by a headhunter the other day…She was not interested in the position at all.
But she realized that it gave her a boost in self-confidence….yes she became aware that she is desirable on the job market and that some people try to reach her.
So what?
Generally speaking recruitment agents waste people’s time with positions that don’t fit or are inadequate. And sometimes even if you don’t fit in the position or you are not really interested they will try to make you fit. You think it is a waste of time…(I have been harsh on Recruiters lately as you should stop sending CVs to them or explaining that they are not creative)
But no, I think it is quite good for your energy and self-confidence. It is an amazing boost and accelerator for your mood. So headhunters are moral boosters?
Yes, and even more, because they trigger something really important: you realize that you have some value on the market!
So many thanks to headhunters for their help in boosting the mood of my clients.
Keep on contacting clients and offering positions even if these positions are not adequate at all, you show my clients and people who are down that they are desired on the job market.
It is an amazing trigger for emotional recovery.
I found a new use for headhunters!
Keep on doing it even if you have nothing…a phone ringing is better than a silent phone.
This emotional trigger is so important in any career change…keep on the good work and call people!

Nov 30, 09 at 9:59 pmI totally agree with you on this. It’s a conversation that can be uplifting, you can learn who’s looking, you can network and share ideas. It is never a waste of time, because even if you aren’t interested, you may know someone you can refer to them, and they will be grateful for that, and keep you in mind for the future. You can also be helping someone else who’s currently looking and make their day too!

Dec 02, 09 at 10:16 amI agree with you except for the comment “Keep on contacting clients and offering positions even if these positions are not adequate at all, you show my clients and people who are down that they are desired on the job market.”
That is wrong and the REC does not condone this activity.
Instead you should make calls and enquire if that person is available making it clear that you havea job that is similar to their experience but not an exact match.
BE HONEST!

Dec 02, 09 at 1:07 pmI agree with you Martin till I realised that some phone calls can lift you up…it is an upside I never thought of. But obviously on the long term, offering positions that don’t exist is the not the solution, especially if the client believes strongly in it. I only underlined the benefit of being called up for certain persons.
